Objective

The High-Yield Bond folio was developed for more aggressive investors seeking higher current income and capital appreciation from bonds.

Strategy

The High-Yield Bond folio consists of bond ETFs that invest in high-yield bonds.

High-yield bonds are rated below investment grade and tend to be more volatile than higher-rated bonds. This folio may provide effective diversification for a portfolio since high-yield bond performance is generally not positively correlated with other bond asset classes, such as government bonds.

* Returns reflect unfunded model performance from the Inception Date to the present. Your returns may deviate significantly from the values displayed here, due to many factors, including how long after a strategy has been updated that you place orders to update your holdings. No membership or trading fees (other than the indirect cost of the bid-ask spread applicable whenever a transaction is conducted) are included in reported performance.

Steps to Create This Folio

  1. We constructed this folio by selecting bond ETFs that were defined as high-yield bond ETFs by Morningstar. These ETFs invest mainly in corporate bonds that are generally considered to be speculative investments or so called junk bonds.
  2. We then selected ETFs with low expense ratios that met certain volume, asset level and other requirements.
  3. We equally weighted each high-yield bond ETF in the folio.

Number of Securities

The number of securities in the folio will vary.

Update Frequency

Quarterly.

If the characteristics of the Folio have changed substantially, the securities included may change. Also, corporate actions, such as a merger, or other events may cause changes to the securities held at any time. Your returns may deviate significantly from the values displayed here, due to many factors, including how long after a folio has been updated that you place orders to update your holdings. RTGs are updated using market data from multiple sources including Zacks Investment Research ( www.zacks.com ), International Data Corporation (IDC) ( www.idc.com ), and other suppliers.
